Turn a photo into a brick mosaic
BrickZoid turns a photograph into a flat, studs-up mosaic of 1×1 plates, one plate per pixel, laid out across whole baseplates, with a piece count for every colour and a chart to build from.
Make a mosaic from your photoHow it works
- Choose a photo and crop it.
- Pick a baseplate (16, 32 or 48 studs square) and a width. Widths snap to whole baseplates, so no plate is left part-empty.
- Choose the number of colours, from 2 to 32.
- Make the mosaic, fix any stud by hand, and print a build chart with heavier lines where one baseplate meets the next, so you can build a plate at a time.
Good to know
- Colours are matched to the 1×1 plates LEGO makes today, so the parts list gives the element ID to order and the colour name for each colour, with how many plates it needs.
- Mosaics are flat and studs up. BrickZoid doesn’t plan brick-built sculptures.
- Your photo never leaves your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
